Brooklyn, NY
(Redirected from Brooklyn, New York)
Brooklyn is one of the five boroughs that make up New York City. It is located at the western tip of Long Island, south and west of Queens and across the East River from Manhattan, to the west. It previously was one of the largest cities in the country before being added onto New York City with the passage of the Greater New York Act of 1898. The independent town of Flatbush, NY was itself incorporated into Brooklyn shortly before it became a borough of New York.
When Brooklyn was an independent city, its nickname was "the City of Churches."
