Biographical Information[edit]

Evans Killeen pitched 4 games in September of 1959 for the Kansas City Athletics. He was 23 at the time, and posted a 4.76 ERA, while the team had a 4.35 ERA that season. Killeen was the same age as fellow pitcher Ralph Terry, who appeared in 9 games with a 5.24 ERA for the Athletics that year before being traded to the New York Yankees.

Killeen has achieved a measure of fame for getting cut in spring training by the 1962 Mets when he cut his thumb while shaving.

He also played eight years in the minors.

The only other player (through 2019) with the last name Killeen has been Henry Killeen.
