Biographical Information[edit]
George Fletcher spent two days in the National Association in 1872. He was already 27 at the time. Although he was born, and died, in Brooklyn, NY, he attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire.
Although his games with the Brooklyn Eckfords in 1872 were in late June, they were only the sixth and seventh games of the season for the team. The Eckfords lost those two games, and in fact did not win a game until August.
This site [1] indicates he was with the 1867 Washington Nationals, after previously being with the Brooklyn Excelsiors. The site also indicates that "all the players had government jobs".
