Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Allison was the younger brother of Andy Allison, the captain and first baseman of the Brooklyn Eckfords of the National Association. Not otherwise an active baseball player, Bill did play a few games alongside his brother, most likely as an emergency fill-in.
He was a ship joiner by trade and although born in New York City, lived most of his life in Brooklyn. He served one term as a Brooklyn city alderman, then was appointed an appraiser in the Custom House, a position which he held when he died in 1887.
