Biographical Information[edit]
Phil Pepe was the New York Yankees beat writer for the New York World Telegram & Sun (1961-1964) and New York Daily News (1971-1984). He has written or co-authored dozens of books, including Slick and Billyball and also wrote regularly for The Sporting News.
He was the president of the New York, NY chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America from 1994 until his death, having earlier served in the same capacity in 1975 and 1976.
