Biographical Information

In spite of having only two brief seasons in the majors, Hack Eibel was a two-way player, appearing in three games as a pitcher in 1920 along with six games as a position player, out of a total 29 appearances that year. He was also in one game in 1912 as an outfielder.

He managed at Macon in 1924.

This site [1] indicates that Eibel was at spring training with the Boston Red Sox in 1918 but was unable to play properly due to a foot injury suffered the previous January at his home in Brooklyn. The site also says he committed suicide at age 51 at a Sports Palace he operated in Georgia.

Hack set a league record when he hit 35 home runs for Shreveport in 1921. Source: 1924 Panthers. The 1921 Yankees came to play some spring training games against Shreveport in March. Eibel batted fifth in the game on March 31 which Shreveport won in extra innings.
