Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Joe Sclafani began his professional career in 2012. He was taken by the Houston Astros as the first pick of the 14th round of the 2012 amateur draft. The scout was John Kosciak.

With the Tri-City ValleyCats in 2012, he hit .271/.355/.338 with 16 stolen bases in 70 games. Between the Quad Cities River Bandits and Lancaster JetHawks he had 31 doubles and 19 stolen bases and in 2014, between the Corpus Christi Hooks and Triple-A Oklahoma City RedHawks, he batted .315/.384/.405 with nine swipes in 98 games. In his first taste of Triple-A, he batted .339/.420/.438 in 62 games. He began 2015 with the Fresno Grizzlies, the Astros new Triple-A squad.

He represented the United States in the 2015 Premier 12.
