Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Schenck was the regular third baseman for the 1882 Louisville Eclipse and the regular shortstop for the 1884 Richmond Virginians.
For Louisville, he appeared in most of the team's games and hit .260 for a team which hit .259. His slugging percentage was also very close to the team's percentage. For Richmond, he appeared in almost all of the team's games and hit .205 on a team which hit .221.
He came back to play one game in 1885 for Brooklyn. He played in the Eastern League in 1886.
The book Baseball in Louisville has a photo of the 1882 Louisville team, including Schenck. The book The Beer and Whisky League has the same photo.
