Biographical Information[edit]
Ed Lynch was the farm director for the San Diego Padres from 1991 to 1993. He moved to the New York Mets as a special assistant to the GM in 1994 before becoming General Manager of the Chicago Cubs from 1994 to 2000. He stayed on with the Cubs as a special assistant to the GM.
He was inducted in the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in 2022. While he was born in New York, went to high school in Florida, made his name as a player and executive in New York and Chicago, he did attend college in the Palmetto State.
