Biographical Information[edit]
Whitey Ock played one game for the 1935 Dodgers. He had been at Lehigh University from 1931-35.
While ten players from Lehigh broke into the majors between 1915-25, Ock was the only player from Lehigh in the majors during the period 1930-1960.
His one game was as a catcher. The regular catcher was Al Lopez. In Whitey's one game, he batted eighth, after Rod Dedeaux, who got into two games in the majors and later went on to a long career as a college coach.
