Biographical Information[edit]

Robb Paller has played in the independent leagues and for the Israeli national team.

Paller hit .531 and stole 32 bases as a high school senior. [1] He hit .196/.305/.314 as a college freshman but improved to .296/.351/.419 as a sophomore. [2] He batted .264/.392/.472 as a junior with 7 homers and 35 RBI in 44 games. He produced at a .302/.400/.503 clip his senior year, making All-Ivy League. [3]

He split the summer of 2016 between the Sussex County Miners (4 for 23, 2B, HR, 4 BB) and Lake Erie Crushers (.223/.379/.348, 28 BB in 31 G). In 2017, he was only 2 for 21 with a double for Lake Erie, though he drew 7 walks.

He obtained Israeli citizenship in 2019 to help Israel vie for a spot in the 2020 Olympics. [4] He did well in the 2019 B-Level European Championship as Israel won its pool. He had 3 runs against Greece, 3 hits against Ireland and homered off former Twins farmhand Andrei Lobanov for Israel's first run in the title game, tying it in the 3rd against Russia. He hit .273/.500/.500 with ten walks in six games, scoring 7 runs. He tied for 7th in the event in OBP, tied for 4th with two doubles and led in walks (two ahead of teammate Mitch Glasser. [5] Israel moved on to the 2019 European Championship Playoff, his 2-run shot off Eimantas Žičkus in the 3rd gave Israel the lead for good. He was 3 for 6 with 4 walks, 2 homers, 4 runs and 5 RBI in the two playoff games against Lithuania to get Israel to the 2019 European Championship, their first European Championship. He tied Jeremy Wolf and Glasser for 2nd in the playoff in average, was second to Simon Rosenbaum in slugging, tied Rosenbaum for the best OBP, tied Blake Gailen and Rosenbaum for 2nd in runs, tied Zach Penprase for the most walks, was second in RBI behind Rosenbaum and tied Rosenbaum and Wolf for the most dingers. At the 2019 European Championship, he hit .208/.387/.500 with two homers, seven walks and five runs in seven games heading into the finals. He went deep off France's Owen Ozanich in the quarterfinals and Italy's Filippo Crepaldi in a semifinal loss. He also played good defense in the corner outfield, with 11 putouts, 2 assists and no errors. He tied Thomas De Wolf and Drew Maggi for 2nd in walks, one behind Kalian Sams. In the Bronze Medal Game, he hit a 3-run homer off Jorge Balboa in the 1st inning of a 16-11 slugfest loss to Spain; he was 0 for 2 with two walks after that. [7] As Israel had finished in the top 5, they made it to the 2019 Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier. He struggled at .118/.286/.176 in the qualifier but drew 3 walks to tie for 3rd behind Danny Valencia and Maggi. He had two runs and a RBI in their win over 2019 European Champion the Netherlands.
