Team History[edit]

The Lake Erie Crushers are a team in the Frontier League which began play in 2009. They replaced the Chillicothe Paints, who folded after the 2008 season after playing in every season since the league's founding in 1993. The Crushers play their games in Avon, OH, on the western fringes of the Cleveland, OH metropolitan area, near Lake Erie, and continue the trend of the league moving from small towns to suburban locations. They completed a remarkable first season by defeating the River City Rascals in the league finals to conquer the Frontier League championship.
