Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Chris Mongiardo formed a battery with Dustin Hermanson in college. He then was assistant coach at Allegheny College. He played for the Canton Crocodiles of the Frontier League in 1999, hitting .302 with 2 homers and 48 RBIs in 77 games. He then made single game appearances for the San Angelo Colts (for whom he was coaching) of the United Baseball League in both 2007 and 2008, going a combined 1-for-10.

In 1999, he was the second of three managers for Canton, then was head coach of Lakeland Community College (2001) and pitching coach of Florida Southern College (2002) and hitting coach at Polk County Community College (2003). He skippered the Richmond Roosters of the Frontier League from 2003 to 2005. A decade later, in 2014, he returned to take the helm of the Lake Erie Crushers. He had also served as pitching coach for the Gary SouthShore RailCats (2005-2006) and Lake County Fielders (2011) and as an associate scout for the San Diego Padres.
