2019 European Championship Playoff
The 2019 European Championship Playoff was a best-of-three playoff between the two 2019 B-Level European Championship winners to determine which team would play in the 2019 European Championship. Israel and Lithuania squared off, Lithuania having fallen short in the 2018 European Championship Playoff. The opener on July 26 in Utena was a 11-2 Israel rout; while Lithuania scored in the first, Joey Wagman (10 K in 6 IP) and Eric Brodkowitz (retiring all 9 batters he faced) shut them down after that. Eimantas Žičkus blanked Israel for two but LF Rob Paller's 2-run homer in the 3rd put Israel ahead for good. Paller finished with 3 hits and 4 RBI, homering twice; also going deep for Israel were 2B Mitch Glasser, CF Blake Gailen, 1B Simon Rosenbaum and RF Jeremy Wolf. 1B Mantas Černiauskas and C Kestas Vilimas each had two hits for Lithuania.
Game 2 the next day was even more lopsided as Israel won 15-0 in a five-inning mercy rule rout. Gabe Cramer allowed only one hit and no walks, with 3B Vytas Valincius getting the only hit. 1B Rosenbaum drove in five, 2B Glasser scored 3 and CF Gailen scored 3. Marius Balandis took the loss.
