Biographical Information

According to SABR research, Ed Mincher and Bill Lennon married sisters. They had played together on the Marylands in 1868-1870 before playing in the National Association. He umpired three games in the National Association in 1872.

He was the first major league player to have the last name Mincher, and there would not be another until Don Mincher came up 89 years later.
