Andrew Barbaro has been an independent league catcher.
Barbaro hit .258/.321/.361 for the 2008 Sioux Falls Canaries in the American Association.
He split 2009 between the Traverse City Beach Bums (.271/.421/.354) in the Frontier League, and Lincoln Saltdogs (5 for 19, walk) in the American Association.
Normal CornBelters (Frontier League)[edit]
Andrew was signed by the Normal CornBelters on February 16, 2010.
Barbaro was the starting catcher for the CornBelters in their very first game on May 21, 2010 against the Evansville Otters at Bosse Field in Evansville, IN.
On September 4, Andrew hit a walk-off home run on the second pitch in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the CornBelters a 4-3 win over the Florence Freedom.
Barbaro hit .237 in the 2010 season with 24 RBIs and 2 homers.
