Biographical Information[edit]
Charlie Girard, from Brooklyn, NY, pitched for the 1910 Phillies. In his several years in the minors, he won 20+ games three times. On the Phillies, he was the same age as star outfielder Sherry Magee.
"Girard, the York recruit, relieved Moren, after the first inning and pitched a masterly game against another youngster, Ferry, who also gave a splendid exhibition." - from Sporting Life, October 1, 1910, about the September 23 game in which Girard pitched eight of the nine innings and got the win
