Biographical Information[edit]

Jake Hehl was born and died in Brooklyn, NY, and played in one game for Brooklyn, giving up no runs in one inning of pitching. He was the youngest player in the National League in 1918.

The New York Times of June 18, 1918, indicates that the Robins had been decimated by the war, losing 13 players to military service. Hehl was a pitcher from Brooklyn Prep High School who was signed on June 17 by the Robins.
