Biographical Information[edit]
Albert Zachary, also known as Al Zachary or by the derogatory nickname "Chink" Zachary, was involved in professional baseball for over 40 years. He was a pitcher for the Utica Blue Sox and spent many years as a pitcher in the Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies organizations. He reached the major leagues with the Dodgers in 1944. Chink went on to play for Montreal for a half season. He would later become a scout for many years with the Braves franchise in Milwaukee and Atlanta.
In 1937-1939 he mostly gave up pitching to play third base.
