Major League Baseball Sanctioned No-Hitters

From BR Bullpen

Note: For games that fit the MLB's previous definition of a no-hitter but no longer do, click here.

In 1991, Major League Baseball clarified its definition of a no-hitter to be "a game in which a pitcher, or pitchers, gives up no hits while pitching at least nine innings. A pitcher may give up a run or runs so long as he pitches nine innings or more and does not give up a hit." The following is a list of the 336 games that fit the definition.

Included in this list is the single no-hitter thrown in the National Association. The NA has at times been considered a major league, and at times not. It was undoubtedly the first professional league, and Joe Borden's no-hitter is included here if only for sake of continuity. No-hitters thrown in the Negro Leagues that have since been recognized as having major league status are also included.

Major League No-Hitters, 9 innings or more[edit]
