In the World Series, the American League champion Boston Red Sox defeated the National League's New York Giants, 4 games to 3with one tie.

Award winners[edit]

The winner of the league's Chalmers Award, given its Most Valuable Player, was Tris Speaker, an outfielder with the Boston Red Sox. In the award's voting, he had 59 out of a possible 64 points.
