The American League won the first midsummer classic at Comiskey Park in Chicago, IL on Thursday, July 6, 1933 by a score of 4 to 2. The league's manager was Connie Mack.
Postseason[edit]
In the World Series, the American League champion Washington Senators were defeated by the National League's New York Giants, 4 games to 1.
Award winners[edit]
The winner of the league's Most Valuable Player Award, given its Most Valuable Player, was Jimmie Foxx, a first baseman with the Philadelphia Athletics. In the award's voting, he had 74 out of a possible 80 points and 4 first place votes.
