Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Pfeffer had a substantial 13-year major league career from 1911 to 1924, winning 158 games. He was a key pitcher on the pennant-winning Brooklyn Robins teams of 1916 and 1920 and pitched in the World Series both years.
Pfeffer was the younger brother of Big Jeff Pfeffer, whose career overlapped in 1911 with his. Neither player's real name was actually "Jeff," and "Big Jeff" was two inches shorter than regular Jeff.
Following his playing career, Pfeffer was an umpire in the American Association.
