Newark Eagles

From BR Bullpen

The Newark Eagles won the 1946 Negro World Series with a lineup that included stars Larry Doby, Monte Irvin, and Ray Dandridge. They played their home games at Ruppert Stadium from 1936 to 1948. The club was formed when Abe Manley bought the Brooklyn Eagles and Newark Dodgers and combined the two teams.
