History, Comments, Contributions[edit]

After finishing in seventh place in 1914, the 1915 Pittsburgh Rebels lured first baseman Ed Konetchy away from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He hit .310 with 10 home runs, and the Rebels finished in third place, just a half game behind the first place Chicago Whales. The pennant-winner was only decided on the season's last day when Chicago defeated Pittsburgh, 3-0, in the second game of a doubleheader, the Whales scoring their three runs in the 6th inning just before a curfew ended the game (a tie would have made Pittsburgh the pennant winner).
