History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The Milwaukee Brewers joined the fledgling Union Association on September 27th, replacing the Pittsburgh team which had disbanded on September 19th. The Brewers were actually the Milwaukee Cream Citys, who had played that season in the minor league Northwestern League before joining the UA. they played 12 games, winning 8. By winning percentage, that put them second in the circuit, behind the St. Louis Maroons.
The Union Association did not come back for a second season and Milwaukee returned to playing in a minor league circuit, the Western League, in 1885.
