(Redirected from Caracas, D.F.)

Caracas (officially Santiago de León de Caracas) is the largest city in Venezuela and also the capital. It is located in the northern part of the country, inland, on the Guare River, but not far south of the Caribbean Sea from which it is separated by a steep mountain range. It includes five discrete municipalities within its borders and forms its own province (Distrito Capital), while the metropolitan area also spreads out over the neighboring states of Miranda and Vargas. Numerous big league stars were born here.
