Biographical Information

Erold Andrus completed a decade of minor league baseball in 2010; his brother Elvis Andrus has played in the majors.

Erold signed with the New York Yankees in July 2000. He hit .305 with 44 runs for La Pradera in the 2001 Venezuelan Summer League. In 2002, he batted .294/.351/.407 and played error-free ball in the outfield for the GCL Yankees. He split 2003 between the GCL Yankees (7 for 21, 2 2B, 3B, 2 BB) and Battle Creek Yankees (.286/.315/.357 in 35 G). In 2004, Andrus was at .291/.338/.421 for Battle Creek, with 83 runs, 34 doubles, 74 RBI and 14 steals in 19 tries. He led the Midwest League with 553 at-bats and 298 outfield put-outs.

In '05, Erold hit .241/.311/.334 for the Tampa Yankees. He was picked by the Minnesota Twins in the AAA phase of the 2005 Rule V Draft but struggled with the 2006 Fort Myers Miracle (.207/.272/.348 in 56 G). Again chosen in the minor league section of the 2006 Rule V Draft, he went to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. In 2007, Andrus played for the Vero Beach Devil Rays (.267/.327/.412 in 63 G) and Montgomery Biscuits (.238/.280/.335 in 54 G). He was with Montgomery for all of 2008, putting up a .255/.331/.388 line.

His days in Organized Baseball over, Andrus played for the Florence Freedom in 2009, batting .302/.371/.454 with 15 steals in 21 attempts. He hit .227/.227/.303 for the Leones del Caracas in the 2010 Caribbean Series. He split the summer of 2010 between the York Revolution (.289/.353/.421 in 83 G) and Tijuana Cimarrones (10 for 27, 2 2B, HR, 6 BB).
