Biographical Information

Jorge Velandia was a coach with the Williamsport Crosscutters in 2010-2011. In 2016, he was appointed an assistant coach with the Philadelphia Phillies.

He then moved into the front office in 2017, and on December 22, 2020 was named the team's Assistant General Manager, on the same day that another former player, Sam Fuld was appointed General manager. That made Velandia one of the highest-ranking persons from Latin America to serve in a major league front office at the time.
