Biographical Information

Pitcher Dan Guzman played in the Cleveland Indians system from 1999-2003 before resurfacing with the Alexandria Aces in 2008. Between all three seasons in the US (his first three seasons were in the Venezuelan Summer League), he went 4-11 with a 4.35 ERA in 50 games (16 starts). In 132 1/3 innings, he allowed 142 hits and 49 walks, while striking out 140 batters. He also pitched four seasons in the Venezuelan Winter League, going 0-2 with a 6.04 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 23 games.

He later became a drummer in a rock band. He was shot and killed in Venezuela in 2010.

His brother was Angel Guzman.
