He was originally signed by the Chicago Cubs as an international amateur free agent in 2013, then was traded to the Boston Red Sox in February of 2020 in return for P Travis Lakins. He was also a member of the San Francisco Giants and Cincinnati Reds organizations before signing as a minor league free agent with the Marlins in January 2024. He was one day short of his 28th birthday when he made his big league debut on April 27th that year, and he split his time between Miami and the AAA Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, where he hit .297 in 49 games.
He was purchased by The Athletics from the Marlins in January 2025 and made the team out of spring training that year. he became a footnote in franchise history on March 31st, in the first game the A's played at their new temporary home ballpark, Sutter Health Park in Sacramento, CA, when he was asked to pitch mop-up duty with the Athletics trailing 17-3 in the top of the 9th. He gave up a solo homer to Kyle Tucker in his inning of work, making the final score 18-3. It was actually his second time taking the mound, as he had pitched a third of an inning under similar circumstances for the Marlins the previous September.
