Biographical Information[edit]

Dan Urbina was a minor league pitcher for six years, peaking at AA.

He was 3-6 with a 5.04 ERA for the 1992 DSL Dodgers, 4-3 with a 4.41 ERA for them in 1993 and 5-3 with a 2.93 ERA in 1994. He came stateside in 1995 with the Vero Beach Dodgers and went 5-7 with a 4.32 ERA, but walked 52 in 91 2/3 IP. He allowed eight runs in 10 2/3 IP for the 1996 San Bernardino Stampede. In '97, the 22-year-old concluded his career with 40 walks in 58 1/3 IP between San Bernardino (3-2, 2.57), Vero Beach (0-2, 8.68) and the San Antonio Missions (3.86 in 9 G).

Urbina was scheduled to coach the GCL Twins in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. In his three seasons with the Wind Surge, Urbina helped the team to the most victories, third best ERA and strikeout to walk ratio, and tied for the third best WHIP in that span.
