Biographical Information[edit]
Edgar Arismendi spent three years with the St. Louis Cardinals' Venezuelan Summer League team. He then was in the Spanish Division de Honor in 2003. He pitched for the Venezuelan national team in the 2010 Pan American Games Qualification Tournament, posting a 5.87 ERA. He signed with Italy's Godo Knights for 2011. In his debut there on April 16, he was pounded for nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits and three walks in only 2 1/3 IP against Telemarket Rimini before being yanked. He finished the year 3-6 with a 5.21 ERA and .303/.408/.444 opponent batting line. He tied for 8th in the Italian Baseball League in losses. He pitched for the Spanish national team in the 2011 European Championship Qualifiers, winning against Ireland (4 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 4 K, 0 R); Pedro Pablo Belmonte closed out the mercy rule 16-0 romp.
