Biographical Information[edit]
Dennis Malave was signed by the Cleveland Indians in 1997 and played in their minor league system until 2004, reaching as high as the AA Akron Aeros in 2001. In 472 minor league games, he hit .255 with 22 home runs with 164 RBIs and 116 stolen bases.
In 2007 and 2008, Malave was the Indians bullpen catcher. He was a coach for the AZL Indians in 2009, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2010, the AZL Indians again in 2011-2017 and Akron RubberDucks in 2018. Malave became a manager for the first time with Mahoning Valley in 2019. He was scheduled to be manager for the Lynchburg Hillcats in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to Covid-19. Malave was bench coach for the ACL Guardians in 2022.
