Biographical Information[edit]

Ron Caridad pitched in the minors leagues and the CPBL.

Caridad was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2bd round of the 1990 Amateur Draft (one pick after Aaron Ledesma), and he had a 7.71 ERA in 5 games for the GCL Twins in 1990. He was 0-4 with a 4.87 ERA for the Elizabethton Twins in 1991, and he went 5-3 with a 4.07 ERA in 1992. Caridad went 6-8 with a 3.51 ERA for the Fort Wayne Wizards in 1993, and he was 2nd in walks in the Midwest League ( 1 behind Cliff Foster).

After missing the 1994 season, Caridad went 2-3 with three saves and a 2.40 ERA for the Fort Myers Miracle in 1995. He had a 5.01 ERA in 20 games for the Hardware City Rock Cats in 1996, then he moved to the Milwaukee Brewers in the middle of the season. He had a 1.50 ERA in 18 games for the Stockton Ports, then he signed with the Chinatrust Whales in 1997. However, Caridad only pitched 9 games with a 4.12 ERA, then he was released. He had a 6.75 ERA in 4 games for the Tyler Wildcatters in the rest of the season, then he recorded a 4.86 ERA with 18 saves for the Alexandria Aces in 1998. He led the Texas-Louisiana League in saves, five ahead of Josh Neese. Caridad announced his retirement after the 1998 season.
