Biographical Information[edit]
Ramón Longa was on the Venezuelan national team in the 1979 Pan American Games and 1980 Amateur World Series. He played two years in the California Angels chain. In 1981, he hit .233/.288/.288 for the Idaho Falls Angels and fielded .857 in the outfield. That winter, he batted .229/?/.271 for the Navegantes del Magallanes. In 1982, he produced at a .183/.335/.229 clip for the Salem Angels, fielding .936. He stole 5 bases in 6 tries, had more runs (25) than hits (24) and more walks (29) than strikeouts (28). For Magallanes in 1982-1983, he was 7 for 34 with a double to end his pro career.
