Baseball on both sides of the Atlantic[edit]

Randy Perez started his career in 1999/2000 playing for the Venezuelan and Dominican Republic teams in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. He then joined the Leones del Caracas, and played there from 2001 to 2004. He then crossed the Atlantic in 2004, playing ball in Bilbao, Spain for San Inazio. He led Division Honor shortstops in fielding percentage (.935) and hit .276/.328/.366.

He joined the Tigers de Toulouse in Division Elite in 2006, before returning the the Venezuelan amateur leagues in 2007. He won the provincial championship and the national championship in Venezuela, and was voted the best infielder of the league. Crossing the Atlantic once more, he joined the Rouen Huskies in 2008. His older brother Keino Perez also played for Rouen. Randy hit .341/.372/.511 as a 3B/SS and hit 4 of the 7 home runs that the Huskies delivered that season, when they won the title. He also pitched 10 games, saving two and having a 1.42 ERA.

For the 2009 season, Randy will play for Pamplona, in Spain.
