Biographical Information

Jorge Ortega was born in Venezuela and signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as an amateur free agent. He pitched in the Brewers minor league system from 2011-2019 and made it to AAA for one game in 2015. In 2019 he was assigned to the Rocky Mountain Vibes but did not play in any games so he might have served as a player-coach for the team.

The Brewers appointed Ortega to be the bullpen coach for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 2020. Unfortunately, the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19. He was the development coach for the Biloxi Shuckers in 2021 and a bullpen coach with the Carolina Mudcats in 2022-2023.
