Biographical Information[edit]

Jonathan Prieto has played and coached in the Pittsburgh Pirates chain.

Prieto hit .302/.385/.388 for the 1998 GCL Pirates. Had he qualified, he would have been 9th in the Gulf Coast League in average. Jonathan batted .303/.364/.361 for the 1999 Hickory Crawdads. The second baseman again would have ranked 9th in his league (the South Atlantic League in this case) had he qualified. In 2000, he hit .237/.337/.306 with 23 steals in 28 tries for the Lynchburg Hillcats. His 77 double plays led Carolina League second sackers. He wrapped up in 2001 by batting .210/.285/.258 with 21 swipes (in 28 attempts) for the Hillcats.
