Team History[edit]
After the 2014 season the Jamestown Jammers moved to Morgantown, WV to become the West Virginia Black Bears. The name Black Bears was chosen in a name the team contest over nine other finalists: the Black Diamonds, Canaries, Coal Kings, Coal Sox, The Energy, Moonshiners, Muskets, Wild Ones and Wonders. The team shared its home ballpark with the West Virginia University baseball team.
The Black Bears lost their MLB affiliation in the minor league reorganization of 2021 and subsequently joined the MLB Draft League, a summer collegiate league.
