Distrito Capital

The Distrito Capital, or "Capital District", is the part of Venezuela occupied by the center of the country's capital, Caracas, and some of its immediate surroundings. It is wedged between the states of Vargas, to the west, and Miranda, to the east, where other sections of caracas are located. It was formerly known as the Distrito Federal (which is the term still used in Mexico for the equivalent territory comprising Mexico City).
