Biographical Information[edit]
Juan Antonio Yánez was a key figure in early Venezuelan baseball. He was one of the founders of the Venezuelan League (1946), started the first umpiring school in Venezuela (1938) and helped form the first players' association. He managed the Patriotas de Venezuela in 1946-1947. In 2003, he was an initial inductee into the Salón de la Fama of Venezuela
