Orlando Díaz was 1 for 8 with 4 times hit-by-pitch and a walk for the Spanish national team that won Bronze in the 2005 European Championship, backing up Miguel Mora at catcher. He tied Björn Johannesen for 3rd in the event in times plunked, behind Frank Candela and Adam Roberts. He hit .304/.292/.435 as an outfielder for Spain in the 2005 Baseball World Cup. He hit .324/.400/.520 in 2006 for the Marlins Puerto Cruz, finishing 10th in the Division Honor in slugging. He batted .308/.393/.423 for CB Sant Boi in 2007. He slumped to .232/.362/.256 for Sant Boi in '08. In 2009 Orlando moved to FC Barcelona where he batted .349/.476/.404. In 2010 he continued with FC Barcelona hitting .402/.574/.486.

In the 2009 European Cup's Matino phase, Orlando was only 1 for 9 for FC Barcelona but his hit was a crucial one - a 3-run double in the 8th off former major leaguer Pat Ahearne to break a 1-1 tie and give Barcelona the game.

He was on Spain's roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.

Orlando retired from the Spanish league after the 2010 season and he is now hitting coach for the Roger Williams University Varsity Baseball team in Bristol, Rhode Island, USA.
