Adam Roberts played baseball in his native Australia, then moved to England, where he played for the Windsor Bears. Roberts joined the British national team for the 2005 European Championship and hit .286/.412/.357. He led Britain in runs (7) and steals (2) and was second in the event with five times hit by pitch; he fielded .974 at second base.

In 2007, Roberts played for Germany's Saarlouis Hornets, hitting .273/.294/.333 in 9 games as a utility infielder. In the 2007 European Championship, he batted .250/.308/.292 with 6 runs in 7 games as Britain's leadoff man. He scored Britain's lone run in their Gold Medal game loss to the Dutch national team, in which they blew a shot at the 2008 Olympics.
