2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup

From BR Bullpen

The 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup is the first Women's Baseball World Cup in five years, after intervals of only two years in the past. The reason was COVID-19 causing cancellation of the 2020 Cup. Competing are the champion of the 2022 European Women's Championship (Flag of France France), the top four teams from the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier (Flag of Puerto Rico Puerto Rico, Flag of Mexico Mexico, Flag of Venezuela Venezuela and Flag of Cuba Cuba), the top four teams from the 2023 Women's Baseball Asian Cup (Flag of Japan Japan, Flag of Chinese Taipei Chinese Taipei, Flag of South Korea South Korea and Flag of Hong Kong Hong Kong), a team from Oceania (Flag of Australia Australia) and two wild cards (Flag of United States United States and Flag of Canada Canada). See 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup (Rosters) for roster information. The event used a different format than in the past, with two pools of six teams each facing off in August and September 2023; the top three teams from each pool advanced to the finals in 2024.
