Biographical Information[edit]

Adriana Palma has pitched for the Mexican women's national team.

She was 1-0 with a 3.62 ERA in the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, beating Mayumis Solano and Cuba in the 3rd-place game. She was 10th in the event in IP (9 2/3) and third with 12 K (behind Janiliz Rivera and teammate Rosa del Castillo). [1] Mexico won a spot in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup, their first Women's Baseball World Cup. She started their second game, versus former Bronze Medal winner Australia. She struck out her second batter, veteran Shae Lillywhite, and allowed 4 hits, 5 walks and 5 runs (4 earned) in 3 1/3 IP (striking out 3); Flor Valerio relieved. Mexico won 16-8 for their first WBWC win (Maricela Aguillera got the decision). She also had the tough challenge of facing Team USA, which was 4-0 going into the game. While outpitched by Elise Berger, she fared better than most hurlers against the US (3 H, 3 BB, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 K in 3 2/3 IP); Valerio again relieved. She tied for the most starts in Pool A, tied Raine Padgham for 4th in IP, tied for 8th in runs allowed, tied Shee-In Choi and Sayuri Ono for 7th in earned runs and tied Hei-Ting Lau for 6th in walks. Mexico advanced to the 2024 portion of the Cup. [2]
