  • Flag of Dominican Republic Dominican Republic 11, Flag of Nicaragua Nicaragua 5. Failing to hold on to their spot in the Women's World Cup, the Dominicans avoid last by beating Nicaragua in the 5th/6th place game. Nicaragua goes up 5-2 against Lorena Medrano, but Esmeralda Alcantara turns in 5 1/3 shutout innings of relief for the win. Brenda Jimenez takes the loss. LF Windeily Ramirez (3 for 4, 2 R, 2 RBI) and CF Rosangela Rodriguez (3 RBI) lead the Dominican offense, while Nicaragua is led by 3B/1B/2B Jessenia Baez, who has as many RBI as positions played today.
  • Flag of Puerto Rico Puerto Rico 1, Flag of Mexico Mexico 0. In the first semifinal, Janiliz Rivera (Puerto Rico) and Rosa del Castillo (Mexico) each throw four-hitters, Rivera tossing a shutout while del Castillo blanked Puerto Rico for the first five. In the 6th, SS Adrix Paradizo hit a one-out double (just Puerto Rico's second hit) and 1B Lisandra Berrios-Lopez singled her in for the game's lone run. LF Diana Ibarra had half of Mexico's hits.
  • Flag of Venezuela Venezuela 10, Flag of Cuba Cuba 0. The other semifinal is a rout as Mary Rodriguez tosses a two-hitter and SS Yohelis Colina drives in three for Venezuela. Yanet Cruz is the losing pitcher. The only Cuban hits come from LF Katherine Fals and RF Yamisleidy Pérez.
