Biographical Information[edit]
Yohelis Colina has played for the Venezuelan women's national team.
She debuted as a teenager in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, drawing a walk from Hye-min Jung of South Korea her first time up. Her first hit came against Marti Sementelli of Team USA. She finished the Cup at .214/.500/.286 with five walks, five runs and six RBI in seven games, fielding .955 between 3B and SS. Only Migreily Angulo had more walks for Venezuela. [1] Playing for Lara in the 2022 Venezuelan Women's League, she hit .318/.446/.477 while fielding .929 as the starting shortstop for the champs. She was second in the loop in runs (21) and triples (3). [2]
In the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, she was at .375/.444/.542 with five runs and five RBI in seven games for the champions, handling 25 chances error-free at short as Venezuela won a spot in the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup. She had one of the event's three homers, an inside-the-park shot off Mayumis Solano. She tied Dayerlin Rivas for third in hits (9), tied Adrix Paradizo for third in total bases (13), tied for 4th in RBI and tied Paradizo for 6th in assists (15). [3]
