Biographical Information[edit]

Diana Ibarra has played for the Mexican women's national team.

In the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, she hit .353/.455/.529 with 6 RBI in 7 games, fielding .778 in the outfield, as Mexico won a spot in the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup (their first Women's Baseball World Cup). She tied for 9th in the event with 9 total bases and tied Adrix Paradizo for second in RBI behind veteran Lisandra Berrios-Lopez of Puerto Rico; her sac fly won the game against Nicaragua in extra innings. [1] In Mexico's WBWC debut, she hit 6th and played center field, flying out against Raine Padgham of Canada her first time up. After an oh-fer that day, she came up big the next game against Australia, a former Bronze Medal winner. She hit a 3-run homer off Maddison Erwin and scored four runs in a 16-8 upset win. It was Mexico's first WBWC home run. She finished group play at .200/.368/.400 with 5 runs and 4 RBI in the 5 games (6 PO, 1 A, 0 E) as the newcomers won a spot in the 2024 portion of the event. In group A, she tied for 10th in runs and tied for the home run lead (Mexico's lone dinger). [2]
