Biographical Information[edit]

Katherine Fals has played for the Cuban women's national team.

She debuted in the 2018 Women's Baseball World Cup, starting in left against the Dominican Republic and hitting 7th. Her first time, she laid down a bunt hit against Juanita Mercedes to drive in Jessica Herrera. Against champion Japan, she had their lone hit off Ami Sakihara and scored a run on a delayed double steal to briefly put Cuba ahead 1-0 in the 5th but Japan came back to avoid an upset. Fals hit .429/.529/.500 for the Cup with six runs and five RBI in six games, stealing four bases in four tries and handling 11 putouts error-free. She tied Yordanka Rodríguez for second on Cuba in RBI (one behind Marielbys Ferro) and only Nilsa Rodríguez had a better OPS for them. [1]

Back with Cuba for the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, she had 3 hits and 3 RBI against Nicaragua and one of two Cuban hits against Mary Rodriguez in a semifinals loss to Venezuela but Cuba still won a spot in the 2023 Women's Baseball World Cup. Fals batted .278/.316/.389 and had 3 putouts with no errors. She tied for second on Cuba with five hits, one behind Odrisleisis Peguero. [2]
